One day, a donkey told a fox, "The color of grass is blue."
The fox immediately replied, "No, the color of grass is green."
Soon, their discussion turned into a heated argument. Finally, they went to the lion, the king of the forest, for a resolution.
Upon arriving at the royal court, the donkey started braying loudly, "Your Majesty, please tell us if the color of grass is blue!"
The lion answered, "Yes, the color of grass is blue."
The donkey then went before the lion, dancing and prancing, and in a complaining tone, started saying, "The fox isn't listening to me; it's arguing with me. Punish it."
The lion immediately declared, "The fox is punished to keep its mouth shut for one week."
The donkey, overjoyed, started jumping and left saying, "The color of grass is blue! The color of grass is blue!"
The fox accepted the punishment and said in a tone of grievance, "Your Majesty, why did you punish me when the color of grass is truly green?"
The lion replied, "Your punishment has no relation to the question of whether the grass is green or blue. I punished you because a smart and courageous animal like you wasted its intellect arguing with a donkey and, for such a silly reason, came to me and wasted my valuable time."
Moral: Never argue with a fool.
